Montréal outshot the Frost 52 to 38 and won the high-danger battle 15 to 10 , but for nearly 96 minutes of hockey neither team could solve the goaltender at the other end. Ann-Renée Desbiens stopped all 38 shots she faced for +3.14 GSAx . Maddie Rooney stopped 51 of 52 for +3.26 GSAx . The series is tied 1-1 heading to St. Paul. Two goalies, +6.54 GSAx between them This is the goaltending performance the postseason asks for. Maddie Rooney faced 4.26 xG of recorded shots , the highest single-game xG workload any PWHL goaltender has faced this postseason, and surrendered exactly one (the Poulin point shot, 0.07 xG). Of the 51 shots she stopped, Kaitlin Willoughby had two looks between 11 and 14 feet at 0.26 xG each in the first overtime that the camera caught Rooney sealing post-to-post. Hayley Scamurra got a 0.15 xG tip-in through a screen at the second-period midpoint. None went in. At the other end Ann-Renée Desbiens answered with a shutout on 3.18 xG faced , including three separate Kelly Pannek wristers in the 0.20-0.24 xG range.
